Radio West Fife is a registered charity (SC048378) and an entirely voluntary organisation that started as a Hospital Radio Station covering hospitals in Dunfermline. Since 2012 we have been broadcasting online to the communities of Dunfermline and West Fife and have established a reputation for delivering quality, locally based and locally produced programmes for and about West Fife. In October 2025 Radio West Fife was awarded, by OFCOM, a licence to broadcast on DAB to Dunfermline and West Fife. As we go live on DAB this gives us us a potential listening audience of around 50000 people in West Fife and a further 170000 listeners in Clackmannanshire, Stirling and Falkirk.
Digital Radio
Digital listening growth remains one of the biggest trends in the latest RAJAR data (Q1 2026), with DAB and online listening across all radio hitting a record 30.4 per cent share of total listening hours. That puts it comfortably ahead of traditional AM and FM listening, which now stands at 24 per cent.
Smart speakers also continue to drive listening growth. Across all radio, listening through smart speakers now accounts for 18.8 per cent of total listening, up year-on-year from 17.6 per cent.
